Write The Story You Want To Live
The end of the year feels like a natural place to reflect on our stories—the pages we’ve written, the twists we didn’t see coming, and the chapters we’re ready to close.
What I’ve come to realize is that no matter what has happened in our lives, as the authors of our story, we hold the pen. We have the power to decide what the rest of the book will look like because we’re the ones writing it.
As I look back on 2024, I see moments where I was tested deeply: unexpected challenges, betrayals in business, and beautiful surprises. Growth in new situations where that pesky resilience kept showing up.
Our lives aren’t random. Every page of our story has brought us to this moment. We are exactly where we are meant to be. And now, as we stand on the edge of 2025, we get to write the next chapter.
Moving forward, let’s focus on our strengths, not our weaknesses. When we emphasize the things we’re naturally good at—those talents and abilities God has blessed us with—that’s where the fun begins.
Focusing on weaknesses might feel productive, but it just leaves you stuck. Think about it: You’re not good at that stuff. Why focus on it? Instead, ask yourself:
What am I great at?
How can I accomplish what I want by leaning into those gifts?
What kind of life do I want to create?
Using the gifts you’ve been blessed with makes everything flow more naturally. Think of all our heroes—they excel because they build on their strengths.
For yourself, stop feeling guilty about what’s “wrong” and start being grateful for what’s right. Your strengths are threads in the tapestry of your life—they run all through it. When you’re aligned with them, the story flows effortlessly.
For me, seeing potential and bringing out the best in situations, taking something good and wanting to make it exceptional, or inspiring others to believe in possibilities and solutions—those are my threads. They remind me to use what I’m already good at instead of getting bogged down by what isn’t perfect.
I’ve also learned this:
I want to be around people who appreciate my strengths and know their own.
If someone wants to “fix” me or make me more “well-rounded” in their eyes, they’re not my people.
I’m demanding enough on myself. The last thing I need is more demands that don’t align with my strengths.
I don’t need people pointing out my weaknesses. Sure, I want to get better at certain things, but that’s not my focus.
Now let’s have some fun with our strengths and look at astrological insights. To some, it might sound a little “woo-woo,” but think about this: Astrological insights are as unique to us as our fingerprints. Who else in all of history was born on the same day, at the same time, in the same place as we were?
For me, my Leo Rising and Sagittarius Sun combine to create a strong presence and a natural ability to inspire others. This resonates deeply with where I’m at in my life.
I express myself creatively through writing my blogs, books, and speeches, and by speaking in front of people—motivating them to live lives and to understand that they are the author of their own story.
Where does this drive come from? Emotional motivation. When I’m connected to a purpose, I’m willing to fight for the people and values I care about.
Isn’t it interesting that seeking astrological insights often brings us right back to what we already know? They resonate so deeply because they’re part of who we’ve always been.
So, what’s my story for 2025? My optimism, adventure, and resilience drive me forward. But they come with challenges. I’ve struggled with impatience and restlessness, and those struggles will continue to be part of my story.
For 2025, I’ll focus on finding balance between adventure and stability. I’ll work on setting boundaries. That’s the chapter I’m writing for myself.
As we move forward into the new year, remember: You are the one writing your story.
Focus on your strengths. Focus on what makes you unique. Let those strengths and qualities drive you forward. Don’t waste energy on what you’re not good at—what a waste of time that would be. Instead, build on the parts of you that you’ve been blessed with.
You have the power to write a new chapter for 2025.
What kind of story will you tell?
