Response From Ottawa
I’ve mentioned that I recently spoke at an event in Ottawa, Canada. The response to my keynote speech was amazing. I recently received this testimonial from an attendee of the event. I’ll include it in its entirety below.
Andrea Leigh, author, speaker, change maker. What an incredible speaker! We need to bring her to schools and C-Suites alike! The impact her story will have on this world is monumental.
She commanded the audience from the first moment she stepped on stage. She shared a story that we expected to be filled with chaos and polarizing opinions, resulting in pain, anger and abandonment. Because that is what we, who have never been in the conversation, have been led to believe. We heard a very different story. One of humour, emotion, compassion and a simple desire to understand, stay connected and support.
The world needs Andrea to take the stage. For those of us who are simply trying to navigate perceived land mines in situations we do not comprehend, Andrea will cut through the noise of media and ulterior motive based messaging. Sometimes, no action is the best action, leaving the field to those who are in the conversation. She introduces the concept of UN-Dividing. Of seeking experts in the field and listening to those who live what you are trying to understand. She won't ask you to compromise or gather under a single banner, just to listen, unfiltered by the noise and seek not to make a stand, but simply to UN-Divide.
